What is Humanism?
“Humanism is a system of thought that centers on humans, their values, capabilities and worth. It is also a life stance based on rational thought, a strong moral sense, compassion, fairness and respect for all.”
Important to note: All Humanist Officiants in Ontario are licensed as Clergy, just like any other Minister, Priest or Rabbi. I am trained and approved by the Humanist Association and licensed by the Province of Ontario.
You do not have to be a member of Humanist Canada to obtain my services.
I do not preach, but I have beautiful readings to script everything so my clients know ahead of time what will be said. For that purpose I make available a booklet with many ceremony choices. It is the couple who picks whatever they like best. Also, I love to see new readings, vows etc, therefore should you have something not already in my booklet please feel free to submit it to me as a suggested text.
Couples must purchase their own marriage license. Available at almost every City/Town Hall.

About Us
Charles Adam OCT, BMA, B.Ed: Charles is a career educator. He earned his music and education degrees from the University of Windsor. He started teaching at the elementary level and two years later switched the high school system. In 1988 Charles moved from Southern Ontario to Manitoulin Island to live at his cottage, but quickly made it his home. Throughout his career he has been passionate about human rights and human values.
